"LITPC Campaign Membership"
"Campaign Membership" is off to a fine start! Since the International Convention in Minneapolis, we have added more than 156 new members! Welcome to all! That's the good news. The bad news is that we are facing the possibility of losing approximately 106 members. About 30 of these are from overseas, and 65+ have been sent a reminder that we need them to continue their membership. Sadly, 10 members have resigned due to health issues We'll have to see what happens.
The elected officers of the LITPC are committed to supporting "Campaign Membership/' Most of the board members have invited at least one new member and are committed to bringing in more members.
It's time for the entire membership of LITPC to invite new members to share the fun, friendship, and satisfaction of our pin trading hobby. We know it's difficult to get everyone to buy in to this membership drive concept. We tend to put it off, forget about it, or simply ignore it- We all know Lions who are pin collectors and who are not LITPC members. Please carry a membership form with you in your wallet or handbag. Put an application on your desk or bureau where you will see it and keep it in your memory. Drop a friend a personal note and enclose a membership application, and then follow up with a phone call. It's up to all of us to support our organization.
To help our new members keep their membership and grow in pin trading, the LITPC has established a mentoring committee, chaired by Director Nan Blakemore of Missouri (gov8990@aol.com; 219-865-8939). Serving on the mentoring committee are Lions: Phil Baumann of Minnesota (phbaumannraiaol.com; 763-753-2041), Gene English of North Carolina (ggengiish@nc.rr.com; 919-772-4285), and George Weaver of Florida (gweaverl9@tampabay.rr.com; 863-294-1678). These Lions are developing the new pin trading mentoring program and if you have any suggestions, please contact them. We all need to work together to strengthen our organization.
And remember, every new member and his/her sponsor receives the LITPC logo pin. You can check our new member list on the LITPC web site. As this is being written the tally includes: Jim Schiebel (NY - 18); Clive Reid (Australia - 12); Phil Schrack (VA -7); Chuck Boeding (IA - 6); Don Wagner (GA - 6); Phil Sharpe (VA - 6); Paul Fugate (IA - 5); Amos Shatzer (PA - 5); George Weaver (FL - 5); Jim Minnich (DH - 4); Jerry Townsend (MS - 4); Bill Sour (CO - 4); Lance Balding (CO - 3); Nan Blakemore (MO -3); Ed Menger (GA-3); Bruce Strome (SC - 2); John O'Malley (NC - 2); Phil Baumann (MN - 2); Tim McCaulley (PA - 2); Lana McCaulley (PA - 2); Kitty Calander (NM -2); Dan Smith (CO - 2); Don Johnson (PA - 2); Harry Fulweiler (VA - 2); Larry Shaull (PA -), and Dave Harris (VA - 2). Let's keep this ball rolling!!! If we work together, we can do it! This list is changing all of the time, so if your name wasn't included, it will most likely make the next publication.
We are also asking all PTC Bulletin Editors to publish '"Campaign Membership" articles in their bulletins. Thank you, all!
