Southeast/Mississippi 2008 Pin Swap
Jerry Townsend, PDG

The Southeast Pin Swap was held at the EXPO Center in Clarksdale, Mississippi on 24 and 25 January 2008. We were pleased to have 28 enthusiastic pin traders who covered 48 tables with hundreds and hundreds of pins. Obviously, there's no way to give you an accurate figure, but it suffices to say that there was a whole lot of pins exchanging hands over those two days. The fellowship, as always, was probably much more important to those in attendance than the opportunity they had in exchanging pins with their fellow pin traders.

We were treated to an outstanding hot and tasty lunch each day by the local "Ranch-O Restaurant." Then on Thursday evening, we had, in my opinion, one of the best steak dinners with all the trimmings that I've seen in a long, long time. Even though food is not necessarily the true measure of how successful a swap is, it certainly contributes to the overall success and in this instance, it was superb.
One of neat things that happened probably could spoil all of our trading friends real fast. Due to the inclement weather during the swap, each trader could drive his or her vehicle right on the trading floor to unload their cases of pins. This saved the day by eliminating a lot of cold and wet folks.
Here are some of the many pictures that were taken during the Swap.
