John J. O'Malley, PDG
North Carolina
PDG John O'Malley of Charlotte, North Carolina is a retired accountant. He joined the Delmont Pennsylvania Lions Club in 1983 and transferred to the Charlotte Eastern Lions Club in 1984. He has held most of the Club officer positions and served as a 100% District Governor. He is the recipient of a Presidents Award, the International Leadership Award and two International President's Certificates of Appreciation. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow, a Progressive Jack Stickley Fellow, and a William Woolard Partner in Service.He is presently serving, for the second time, as President of the North Carolina Pin Traders Club.
Outside of Lions, Lion John is a Past District Coordinator of the AARP Tax-Aide Program and a Past Member of the AARP Leadership Council. He also is a former member of the North Carolina Eye Bank and a past member of the Board of Directors for the Freight Agents Association of Cleveland, Ohio. Before he retired, he was the Chief Accountant of three U.S. Steel Railroads.
Lion John was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania and attended Duquesne University. He received his accounting degree from Robert Morris College. He is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in both WW II and the Korean War. Obviously, Lion John has brought a wealth of experience to the LITPC Board of Directors and is currently working with those who are interested in forming new pin trading clubs within Lionism. He looks forward to another full year of activity on the LITPC Board and invites any of you to contact him if you have any questions about the inner workings of the Board. If he doesn't have the answer, he's the type who will make inquiries to those who might be able to give assistance and will give you an honest and prompt reply.
