Meet Your Officers

John Leggett

United Kingdom

Director 2006-2008

Leggett PicLion John Leggett sends greetings from jolly old England. He told us that these last two years that he has served on the LITPC Board of Directors has flown by so fast. He feels that it has been a very rewarding experience for him, particularly since he was serving at a time when we initiated a revitalized web site and introduced the mailing of the LITPC "Trading Post" by e-mail. Lion John is of the opinion that both of these achievements will have a lasting affect for the good of the pin trading community. He also expressed delight that President Larry Shaull has chosen to emphasize the need for our involvement in Campaign Sight First II.

Lion John Leggett joined the police force in his home area of England at the age of 17, and survived 34 years of service, mainly as a detective. In 1994 he came over to Colorado to help in some sports promotion at Mile High Stadium. While there, he met a fellow by the name of Bob Remmington and between the two of them, they formed the Briargate Lions Club. Another person who helped them greatly was the late Chuck Baker. Lion John remembers all of this and has pleasant memories of the Chartering of the Club in August of that year, with Past International President Bill Biggs doing the honors.

Lion John is presently retired and enjoys Lions as his main hobby. He has played various sports all of his life and now enjoys running in various marathons that are available to him. He plans to run in the 2008 London Marathon, as well as the Lion "A Gift for Living" event. He is the producer of the Rupert Bear pins that have become so collectible and give the proceeds from the sale of these pins to charity. So, if he approaches you with a sales pitch for the pins, rest assured the profits will benefit a charity.

Both Lion Reg and Lion John have proven to be very valuable members of the LITPC Board of Directors and their involvement certainly adds the International touch that we value within Lionism.
