Spring 2009
WE DID IT!!
If you have not heard, the LITPC Campaign Sight First II account went over $100,000 at the Pennsylvania Pin Swap. We officially stand at $109,250 in the bank, with more coming each week. Thanks to each and every one of you who helped make this challenge a huge success, and most of all, help the CSF II in its challenge toward ridding the world of preventable blindness. The LITPC web site has fireworks going off everywhere and the thermometer is over the top. I am so very proud to be a member of this group of Lions, who have stepped up and without any complaining, went right to work and got the job done.
For those Clubs which are still raising funds, keep up the great work and please send your checks to our LITPC Treasurer, Lion Harry Fulwiler by June 1st. That should give us time to sell those quilt tickets at your District and State Conventions, and sell the remaining CSF II pins that you still have. We want the check that I will be presenting to LCI President Al Brandel, on your behalf, to include all the funds raised by pin traders. The bigger the check, the more we as pin traders will have to be proud of.
Have you made your reservations yet for Minneapolis??? Don’t forget to reserve a table and a chair or stool. The form is on our LITPC web site. As I mentioned above, LCI President Al Brandel will be at our Annual Breakfast to say a few words, present a few awards, and accept our big check. I hope that you are planning on coming to the Breakfast on Tuesday morning, and also bringing a friend or two along. It is important to have a good showing of members whenever the President of Lions Clubs International is in attendance.
These last two years have gone by very fast. We started in Chicago with an idea and will end in Minneapolis with fond memories of the two years as your President. I thoroughly enjoy your friendship and the fellowship that we have each time we get together. Pin traders have fun wherever we go and that is the key to being a successful club.
Please join us at the LITPC Annual Breakfast and Meeting where we will present a check for over $125,000 to the President of Lions Clubs International, Al Brandel.
Thanks for your support,
Larry
