Meet Your Officers
Charles E. "Chuck" Boeding, PDG
Iowa
Lion Chuck Boeding joined the Lions in 1978 and was introduced to pin trading in the mid-1980's at a small swap (about 10 traders) that was held in Traer, Iowa.
In 1988, the Lions Pin Traders Club of Iowa (LPTCIA) was chartered at the Iowa Lions State Convention. In his own words, Lion Chuck stated that "I was lucky enough to be one of the Charter members". Later that summer, Lion Chuck went to the Lions International Convention in Denver, Colorado, where he joined the LITPC.
Lion Chuck tells us that he has been on the board of the LPTCIA from the day the Club was chartered and continues to enjoy that status today. He initially started to collect State Pins and that led him to the pin traders club pins category. He says he was late getting into the fun of collecting the Civil War pins and is still trying to complete that collection. Likewise, he is still working on completing his collection of Native American pins. At the present, he is trying to keep track of all of the Transportation Series pins. The bottom line here is that he truly enjoys pin trading and hopes to continue in this hobby for many more years to come.
Lion Chuck is truly proud of his perfect attendance from day he joined the Lions back in 1978. He has served his Club in about every office, including 100% Secretary and 100% President. He has served in many capacities on the District cabinet, including being a 100% District Governor in 1996-97. He is currently serving as the President of the Past District Governors of Iowa. Probably one of his greatest achievements as a Lion is the 40 new members he has sponsored. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow and a recipient of the Warren Coleman Award (Iowa's version of the Melvin Jones). He has eight International Presidents Certificates of Appreciation and the International Presidents Award. Lion Chuck Boeding is a Lions Lion and would welcome the opportunity to get to know as many of you as possible.
